Moving to this platform adds a second processor and expands drive bays from eight to twelve, raising both compute threads and local capacity in one step. The jump is worthwhile when databases or virtualisation clusters need more memory channels and direct-attached storage without external arrays. The P440ar SAS controller with expander manages the full backplane.

Fits standard racks with dual 800 W hot-plug

Four-post mounting uses the 36 x 24 x 10 inch footprint and 40-pound weight. Redundant power supplies and integrated iLO Advanced remote management simplify lights-out operation. Dual-port 10 GbE and dual-port 1 GbE networking are onboard. Memory scales to 3 TB using DDR4 RDIMMs; drive bays accept SATA or SAS media. No drives or rails are included.
