The HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen10 Plus is a tower server built for small businesses and remote offices that need on-premise compute and storage. It ships with a Xeon E-2314 four-core processor running at 2.8GHz with turbo up to 4.5GHz and 32GB of DDR4 3200MHz unbuffered memory in two 16GB modules. Four 8TB SATA hard drives provide 32TB of raw capacity, while the Smart Array VROC controller handles RAID duties. The memory and drives are supplied separately and require installation before use.

Thermals noise and power

A single cabled power supply delivers power to the system, and the tower chassis uses internal airflow to cool the Xeon CPU, memory and four 3.5-inch hard drives. The embedded Broadcom BCM5720 dual-port 1Gb Ethernet adapter and onboard iLO 5 remote management add minimal thermal load during typical office workloads. Acoustic output will vary with drive activity and ambient temperature, but the platform is designed for quiet operation in open-plan or small-room environments. Power draw scales with CPU utilisation and the number of spinning drives.

Build connectivity and expansion

Physical security features include a padlock eye, bezel lock and Kensington security slot, while firmware-level protections offer secure recovery and secure erase of NAND and user data. Connectivity covers four USB 3.0 ports, dual 1Gb Ethernet and a DVD-ROM drive for legacy media. Internal expansion provides four PCIe slots and an M.2 slot for additional controllers or storage accelerators. The tower form factor suits desk-side or rack-shelf placement where front access to drives and ports is convenient.
