The ICY DOCK ExpressSlot MB842MP-B fits two M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs ranging from 30 to 110 millimetres. It installs in a single-width full-height PCIe slot and uses tool-less removable trays with an eagle-hook lock for drive security.

Requires PCIe bifurcation

Both drives are accessible only when the host platform provides PCIe bifurcation at x4, x4, x4, x4 for a sixteen-lane slot or x4, x4 for an eight-lane slot. Without this motherboard feature the second drive will not be detected.

Sustained throughput depends on host lanes

Under continuous workloads the adapter delivers the bandwidth of the allocated PCIe 3.0 or 4.0 lanes. Thermal performance relies on case airflow because the card has no active cooling of its own.
