Six-bay 2.5" SAS/SATA rack for 5.25" bay

The ICY DOCK ToughArmor MB608SP-B fits six 2.5" SAS or SATA drives from 5 mm to 9.5 mm height into one external 5.25" bay. It is built for medical, military, media-server, HPC and industrial PC installations. The full steel chassis meets Tier 1 durability requirements. Removable EZ Slide Micro trays simplify drive maintenance.

Locking SATA cables and three-mode 40 mm fan

Each bay uses a 15-pin SATA power connector and SATA data cable with a locking latch to reduce cable clutter and secure connections. A single 40 mm fan offers three speed modes: off or low for SSDs and high for mechanical drives. This adjusts airflow to the workload without extra controllers.

Single-channel SAS 3.0 12 Gbps

The backplane supports SAS 3.0 at 12 Gbps and SATA 3.0 at 6 Gbps on a single channel. Total throughput is shared across all six bays, so simultaneous heavy I/O on every drive will saturate the link. Systems needing full bandwidth per drive require a multi-channel controller or separate enclosures.
