RP2040-Zero Development Board 3-Pack

The KEHIPI RP2040-Zero is a pico-like microcontroller board built around the Raspberry Pi RP2040 dual-core Arm Cortex-M0+ processor running up to 133 MHz. It provides 264 KB of SRAM and 2 MB of on-board Flash memory for program storage. The castellated module design allows direct soldering to carrier boards for embedded integration. This pack contains three boards for multi-node projects or spares.

Low-Power Operation and USB-C Power

The board draws power through a USB-C connector and uses an ME621 low-dropout LDO regulator rated for a maximum current of 800 mA. Low-power sleep and dormant modes are supported by the RP2040 chip to minimise consumption during idle periods. A WS2812 RGB LED provides visual status indication without adding significant load. USB 1.1 device and host support enables simple peripheral communication.

Sustained Load Behaviour and GPIO Flexibility

Under continuous operation the dual-core processor maintains its 133 MHz clock while the on-chip temperature sensor allows thermal monitoring in firmware. Eight programmable I/O state machines offload timing-critical tasks from the main cores during sustained workloads. The board exposes 29 multi-function GPIO pins, with 20 available on the edge pinout and nine additional pins via solder points. Accelerated floating-point libraries assist with compute-heavy loops over long runs.

Vragen over dit artikel

How do I solder the castellated module onto my carrier board without bridging pins?

Align the castellated edges on the carrier pads, apply flux, then drag-solder each pad with a fine tip; the 10 solder points include 9 for GPIO so keep the iron moving to avoid bridges

What on-board component will wear out first and need replacement?

The W25Q16JVUXIQ 2 MB NOR Flash is rated for many erase cycles but will eventually wear out; the ME621 LDO and WS2812 LED are solid-state and typically last the board's life

Which limit appears first when the board runs at 133 MHz continuously?

The ME621 LDO supplies up to 800 mA; sustained 133 MHz operation with active peripherals can approach this ceiling, so thermal throttling or voltage drop occurs before the Flash or SRAM limits
