LORDWORLD CM4/CM5 Interface Protection Adapter Board

SKU CH-C27P-SXH8X

Protects Raspberry Pi CM4 and CM5 module sockets from wear caused by repeated insertion and removal during development and testing

  • Protects CM4/CM5 sockets from wear during frequent module swaps
  • Compatible with CM4, CM4 Lite, CM4 eMMC and CM5 modules
  • Standard Compute Module connectors ensure stable baseboard connections
  • Reduces mechanical stress on delicate module pins during development
  • Ideal for repeated hardware testing and prototyping cycles

Socket Protection Adapter

The LORDWORLD adapter board sits between a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 or 5 and a baseboard, absorbing the mechanical stress of repeated insertion cycles. It accepts both CM4 and CM5 modules, including Lite and eMMC variants, so developers can swap modules without wearing the carrier board socket.

Passive Thermal Behaviour

The board carries no active components, so it adds no heat, noise or measurable power draw during normal operation. Its only role is to pass signals through standard CM4/CM5 connectors while shielding the baseboard socket from physical wear.

Sustained Load Durability

Under continuous development use the adapter maintains a stable electrical path because it contains no regulators or logic that could throttle or fail. The limiting factor remains the rated mating cycles of the compute module connectors themselves, not the adapter board.

Vragen over dit artikel

How do I install the LORDWORLD adapter between my CM4 module and the baseboard?

Align the module's connector with the adapter's socket, press firmly until seated, then plug the adapter's bottom pins into the baseboard. The step often missed is checking both connections are fully inserted before powering on.

Will the adapter's connectors wear out after many insertions?

The board uses standard Raspberry Pi Compute Module connectors rated for repeated mating cycles; under normal development use they last for years. If pins eventually loosen, the adapter itself is replaced, not the baseboard socket.

What is the first limit I hit when swapping modules continuously all day?

Mechanical insertion force on the connector pins becomes the limiting factor; the adapter absorbs this stress so the baseboard socket sees minimal wear.
