UPS HAT for Raspberry Pi 5 with 40W PD 3.0 charging

This development board adds uninterruptible power to a Raspberry Pi 5, 4B or 3B+. It accepts up to four 21700 lithium cells and delivers a stable 5V 6A output through an onboard buck converter. A USB-C port handles bi-directional fast charging under the PD 3.0 protocol at up to 40W. An MCU detects external power and can boot the Pi automatically.

Pogo-pin mounting and I2C monitoring simplify setup

The HAT connects to the Pi through pogo pins, so no soldering or header assembly is required. Battery fuel-gauge data such as voltage, current, power and remaining capacity travel over the I2C bus for real-time software monitoring. Online resources and a manual guide the initial configuration. Builders must source their own 21700 cells, as none are included in the package.

Four 21700 cells give extended runtime for edge

With four cells installed the board can sustain the Pi through lengthy power interruptions, making it suitable for remote sensors, kiosks or mobile robotics. The 5V 6A limit defines the maximum load; peripherals drawing more current will exceed the regulator’s capability. Runtime scales with the capacity of the chosen cells, which are not supplied.
