UPS Module for Raspberry Pi
The MCDODO UPS Module 3S provides uninterruptible power for Raspberry Pi and Jetson Nano boards. It charges connected batteries while simultaneously delivering up to 5 A at 5 V from an external supply. An I2C interface reports real-time voltage, current and power data. Multiple protection circuits guard against over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, short-circuit and reverse polarity.
Makers needing continuous uptime
This module suits robotics, mobile projects and industrial controls that cannot tolerate a power loss. It is not intended for builders who need a compact power bank without battery management, nor for users who want a UPS with included cells. Batteries must be sourced separately and matched to the 3S specification.
Sustained 5 A delivery with active balancing
Under continuous load the onboard regulator maintains a steady 5 V output up to its 5 A rating. The equalising charge function keeps series cells balanced during long run-times, while protection circuits throttle or disconnect if temperature or current limits are exceeded. Automatic switchover to battery power occurs without interrupting the attached board.

Vragen over dit artikel
What external power supply and battery pack do I need to make the UPS module charge and deliver power at the same time?
You need an external power supply and three 3S Li-ion cells connected in series; the cells are not included with the module.
Will the onboard 5 V 5 A regulator keep my Raspberry Pi running during the automatic switchover to battery power?
Yes, the module switches to battery output automatically when external power is lost and the 5 V regulator supplies up to 5 A continuously for the Pi.
How can I confirm the UPS is communicating with my Raspberry Pi after wiring the I2C bus?
Read the I2C registers to see real-time battery voltage, current and power values reported by the module.
