Socket and processor support

The board uses the LGA 1700 socket and accepts 12th, 13th and 14th generation Intel Core processors together with Pentium Gold, Celeron and Intel Processor 300(T) models. A dedicated LGA1700 mounting bracket is required for cooler installation. A BIOS update may be needed before a 13th or 14th generation CPU will boot.

Memory layout and storage

Four 288-pin DDR4 slots support dual-channel memory up to 128 GB at JEDEC speeds of 3200, 2933, 2666 and 2133 MT/s; overclocked profiles reach 5200+ MT/s with one single-rank DIMM per channel. Six SATA 6Gb/s ports offer RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. Four M.2 Key M slots take 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 devices; the top slot runs at PCIe 4.0 x4 from the CPU and the second at PCIe 4.0 x4 from the Z690 chipset. Intel Optane Memory is ready on the chipset-linked slots.

Expansion, networking and audio

One PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots (electrically x4 and x1) and one PCIe 3.0 x1 slot provide expansion room. Networking combines an Intel I225-V 2.5 Gb/s LAN controller with an Intel Wi-Fi 6E module. Audio is handled by a Realtek ALC897 codec delivering 7.1 channels with Audio Boost. USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports are driven by the Intel controller for stable high-speed connections.
