Capacity and purpose

This kit provides 2TB of DDR5 registered ECC memory in sixteen 128GB modules. It is built for Dell PowerEdge XE9780L and XE9785L rack servers that require high-density, error-correcting RAM. The 4Rx4 organisation and PC5-44800 rating match the platform's memory subsystem. Workloads needing less capacity or non-ECC memory should look elsewhere.

Installation notes

Each module is a standard 288-pin DDR5 RDIMM that seats in the server's DIMM slots without tools. The kit ships as a matched set of sixteen sticks, so population order follows the motherboard manual rather than guesswork. No heat spreaders are fitted, which keeps the profile low but leaves thermal management to the chassis airflow. Mixing with modules of different rank or speed is not supported.

Sustained operation

Registered buffering and on-die ECC maintain data integrity during continuous compute passes at 5600 MT/s. The 1.1V operating voltage helps limit power draw when all sixteen slots are populated under load. CL46 latency is consistent across the kit, avoiding timing drift that can appear with mixed modules. Servers running memory-bound tasks for hours will see stable throughput without correctable-error accumulation.
