48GB DDR4 ECC RDIMM kit for Thinkmate servers

This 48GB kit contains six 8GB DDR4 3200 registered DIMMs built for Thinkmate GPX-XS12-24S3-8GPU servers. Each module runs at 1.2V with CL22 latency and uses major OEM chips from Samsung, Micron or Hynix. The registered design adds a buffer that reduces electrical load on the server memory controller. Buyers needing non-ECC or unbuffered memory for desktop boards cannot use this kit.

Registered DDR4 3200 limits in multi-DIMM servers

Registered DDR4 3200 allows higher capacities per channel than unbuffered memory, but the memory controller still caps the maximum supported speed when all slots are populated. Filling six slots on a single processor often forces the bus to run below the rated 3200 MT/s depending on the CPU and BIOS revision. Systems that require DDR5 or higher frequencies than 3200 MT/s will not reach those speeds with these modules.

ECC RDIMM requirement decides fit

The single specification that determines compatibility is the registered ECC RDIMM form factor required by the Thinkmate platform. Only motherboards that explicitly support 288-pin DDR4 registered ECC DIMMs can accept this kit. Workstations or servers that demand unbuffered ECC, non-ECC UDIMMs or a different pin count will not boot with these modules installed.
