Server-grade DDR5 ECC kit

This OWC kit supplies 32 GB of DDR5 4800 memory as two 16 GB registered DIMMs. Each module runs at CL40 latency and 1.1 V, delivering error-correcting code protection for data integrity. The 288-pin RDIMM form factor is built for Dell PowerEdge R6625, R760, R7615 and R7625 servers. It is not compatible with standard desktop platforms.

Registered DIMM installation requirements

The modules require motherboard slots that support registered ECC DDR5 and cannot be mixed with unbuffered or load-reduced memory. Populating both DIMMs in matched channels lets the memory controller operate at the rated 4800 MT/s speed. No heat spreaders are fitted, so airflow across the slots must be maintained by the server chassis design. The kit frees additional slots for future capacity expansion.

Upgrade from lower-capacity or slower DDR5

Replacing smaller RDIMMs or slower DDR5 modules with this 32 GB kit raises total memory bandwidth and reduces correctable error overhead. The jump is worth it when virtualization density, database caching or ECC-dependent workloads exceed the current memory ceiling. Buyers who need consumer DDR5, non-ECC DIMMs or higher frequencies than 4800 MT/s should look elsewhere.
