This 64GB kit provides two 32GB DDR5 4800 CL40 modules built to JEDEC standard. It is designed for Lenovo ThinkStation P7 and PX workstations that require registered ECC memory. The 1.1V 2Rx8 DIMMs deliver error correction for data integrity in professional workloads. Standard desktop systems cannot use this memory type.

Upgrade path from non-ECC

The kit replaces unbuffered or load-reduced DIMMs that the platform rejects. It is worth installing when the workstation needs registered ECC to boot or when the current capacity limits multitasking with large datasets. Mixing with unbuffered or load-reduced modules is not supported. Buyers who need unbuffered memory for consumer platforms cannot use this product.

DDR5 4800 registered DIMM constraints

The 288-pin registered interface adds one clock cycle of buffering, so the memory controller must support registered operation. Bandwidth is fixed at the JEDEC 4800 MT/s rate with CL40 latency. Systems limited to lower DDR5 speeds will downclock the modules. Builders who need higher frequencies or unbuffered DIMMs must choose a different memory type.
