Purpose-built 2230 NVMe enclosure

The Sabrent EC-NE30 is a USB-C enclosure made specifically for M.2 2230 PCIe NVMe SSDs. It lets you access, clone or prepare these short drives before installing them in devices such as a Steam Deck or Surface Pro 9. The tool-free latch secures the drive without screws and the integrated cable means there is nothing extra to carry. It is bus-powered and works driver-free on Windows, macOS and Linux.

USB 3.2 Gen 2x1 practical limits

The enclosure connects at up to 10Gbps using USB 3.2 Gen 2x1 and remains backward compatible with older USB ports. UASP and TRIM support are included to sustain performance and endurance during transfers. Real-world throughput will be limited by the host port speed, the drive's own ceiling and thermal conditions inside the compact aluminium and ABS shell. SATA-based M.2 drives are not supported.
