Adds two RS232 serial ports via an internal USB motherboard header, delivering up to 115200 bps with FTDI chipset and low-profile brackets included
The ICUSB232INT2 adds two RS232 DB9 ports through a single 10-pin motherboard header. It draws power from the USB bus so no external supply is needed. The 24-inch cable reaches most internal routing paths. Legacy equipment and industrial gear connect directly without a separate expansion card.
On-chip FIFO receive and transmit buffers smooth data flow during continuous transfers. COM-port retention keeps the same port assignments after reboots or driver reloads. The FTDI chipset sustains the rated 115200 bps without drop-outs. Bus power remains stable because the adapter draws only what the header provides.
This adapter removes the need for a PCI or PCIe serial card when a free USB header exists. The low-profile bracket fits slim chassis where full-height cards cannot. It is not suited for systems that lack an internal USB header or that require more than two serial ports.

The adapter is bus powered from the USB motherboard header, so it needs no separate supply and adds only a small load to the 5 V rail.
A single 10-pin IDC USB header is required; the package includes a 24" cable and both low-profile and standard brackets for the two DB-9 ports.
Yes — the FTDI chip supports 7 or 8 data bits, 1 or 2 stop bits, and none, odd, even, space or mark parity up to the full 115200 bps rate.
