This PCI Express add-on card adds two USB Type-C ports that operate at the USB 3.1 Gen 2 standard with up to 10 Gbit/s throughput. The ASMedia ASM3142 controller supports UASP and the USB 3.2 Rev 2.0 specification to maintain high transfer rates during extended file operations. An optional 15-pin SATA power connector supplies extra current for demanding peripherals so performance does not throttle under continuous load. Driver support spans Windows 7 through 10, Windows Server 2008 R2 through 2019, Linux 3.5 to 4.11.x LTS and macOS 10.13 to 10.15.

Dual-Profile Build

A standard-profile bracket comes fitted and a low-profile bracket is included, letting the same card fit full-height or slim enclosures without modification. The x4 edge connector seats securely in longer PCIe slots while the two integrated USB-C receptacles face the rear panel for clean cable routing. No internal USB headers are used; all connectivity is external.
