Dual Xeon 1U Server for Dense Compute

The Supermicro SYS-6018U-TR4T+ is a new 1U rackmount system populated with two Intel Xeon E5-2667 v4 processors running at 3.2 GHz with eight cores each. It ships with 128 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory across eight modules. A MegaRAID 9361-8i controller with 1 GB cache and battery backs four hot-plug 3.5-inch SATA/SAS drive bays. Quad 10GBase-T ports and IPMI 2.0 with dedicated LAN complete the connectivity.

Suits Virtualisation and HPC Clusters

This server targets teams that need high core density and fast memory in a single rack unit for virtualisation hosts, HPC nodes or cloud workloads. The dual-socket layout and 10 GbE links support heavy parallel tasks and rapid data movement. Buyers who require more than four 3.5-inch drive bays or who need front bezel and rack rails included should look at other configurations. GPU-accelerated workloads are not served by the onboard Matrox G200 graphics.

Four 3.5-Inch Hot-Plug Bays with 9361-8i RAID

The storage subsystem is defined by four 3.5-inch hot-plug bays driven by the LSI MegaRAID 9361-8i controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. No drives are installed, so capacity and drive type are chosen at deployment. This bay count and controller combination determines whether the chassis meets the storage density and redundancy needs of the target workload.
