The Synology RS1626xs+ is a 1U rackmount network-attached storage appliance powered by an Intel Xeon D-1726 6-core processor and 16GB of DDR4 ECC memory. It ships fully assembled with four 4TB enterprise drives providing 16TB of raw capacity. Dual 10GbE RJ-45 ports and a dedicated management LAN port are included for high-speed connectivity. This configuration targets businesses that need virtualization-ready storage in a compact form factor.

Sustained performance under load

The Xeon D-1726 maintains consistent throughput during extended virtualization, backup and file-sharing workloads without thermal throttling in the specified 5°C to 35°C operating range. ECC memory protects data integrity during long-running compute tasks such as snapshot replication or surveillance recording. Dual M.2 NVMe slots accept cache modules to accelerate random I/O over prolonged periods. The PCIe Gen4 x8 expansion slot allows additional networking or storage controllers to be added without reducing sustained bandwidth.

Upgrade from entry-level NAS

This unit replaces single-gigabit 2-bay or 4-bay appliances that lack 10GbE connectivity, ECC memory or expansion capability.
