Compact 1U rackmount storage

The Synology RS826+ is a 1U rackmount NAS built for edge sites and growing business environments. It ships fully assembled with 16 GB of DDR4 ECC memory and four 12 TB SATA drives installed, giving 48 TB of raw capacity out of the box. The AMD Ryzen V1500B four-core processor handles file services, virtualization and backup workloads in a single chassis.

Four-bay flexibility and expansion

Four 3.5-inch SATA bays accept hard drives or 2.5-inch SSDs so the array can be tuned for capacity or speed. Four 1 GbE RJ-45 ports support Link Aggregation for load balancing and failover without extra hardware. A PCIe Gen3 slot is available for a 10 GbE or 25 GbE adapter when network throughput needs to scale beyond the onboard interfaces.

48 TB baseline with 32 GB memory ceiling

The included drives deliver 48 TB of storage for shared files, backups and surveillance footage. Sequential throughput reaches 2 000 MB/s read and 1 300 MB/s write under Synology test conditions, sufficient for multi-user office workloads. Memory expands to 32 GB, so heavier database or virtualization tasks may require an upgrade beyond the factory 16 GB.
