The Vszerda card uses the Intel 82599ES controller to deliver two SFP+ ports over a PCIe 2.0 x8 interface. It supports 10 Gbps Ethernet, iSCSI, FCoE and NFS storage traffic, and is compatible with Windows Server 2003 through 2012, Windows 7 to 10, Linux and VMware ESXi. Both full-height and low-profile brackets are included for standard or slim chassis.

Sustained throughput with hardware offloads

The 82599ES provides Quality-of-Service, Flexible Port Partitioning and intelligent offload engines that maintain consistent 10 Gbps rates under continuous load. Direct Data I/O and PCI Express 2.0 5.0 GT/s x8 lanes reduce CPU overhead during long iSCSI or FCoE sessions, while data-centre bridging keeps Ethernet lossless for storage workloads.

Low power draw and broad temperature range

Typical power dissipation is 8.6 W, and the operating range spans 0 to 55 °C (32 °F to 131 °F). The dual-port design connects via SFP+ direct-attach copper, active optical or LC fibre cables up to 10 m, keeping cabling simple without adding active cooling requirements.
