8GB DDR4 SODIMM for VivoBook S15

This 8GB DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM module is built for ASUS VivoBook S15 models including the S530FN, S530U, S530UN, S530UA, S510U and A407U series. It uses a 260-pin unbuffered non-ECC design that slots directly into the laptop memory socket. The stick is sold as a single 8GB unit.

Capacity headroom and limits

The laptop platform supports a maximum of 16GB across two sockets, so this module fills half the available capacity. Adding a second matching stick would reach the 16GB ceiling and enable dual-channel operation. A 64-bit operating system is required to address more than 4GB of memory. Systems already populated with slower modules will run all memory at the lowest common speed.

Build and daily implications

The module operates at 1.2V without a heat spreader, keeping the profile low for thin chassis clearance. It uses major-brand chips in a 2Rx8 configuration with CL17 17-17-17 timings. Mixing with existing memory is possible but the entire array will drop to the slowest installed speed. The manufacturer provides a limited lifetime warranty against defects when purchased directly.
