One-to-four PCIe splitter for mining rigs

This Wadermoon adapter converts a single PCIe x1 slot into four PCIe USB 3.0 ports, letting miners attach multiple graphics cards to one motherboard. The card works with DOS, Linux, Windows XP, 7, 8 and 10, and includes an aluminium heatsink for thermal management. It draws power directly from the slot, so no extra cable is required.

Replaces single-slot risers when density matters

Instead of using one riser per GPU, this multiplier lets a single x1 lane feed four cards, saving motherboard slots and chassis space. The upgrade is worthwhile when the board cannot accept more physical x16 cards but the OS and driver stack can still enumerate additional GPUs. Windows 10 recognises up to eight cards, while Windows 7 stops at six.

Tool-free mounting with OS limits to watch

The board screws into a standard case bracket and needs no auxiliary power, making installation straightforward. Common issues include the USB-style ports carrying only PCIe signals, so they cannot connect ordinary USB devices. Motherboard BIOS limits and Windows GPU caps often require a modified driver or a Linux-based mining OS for full utilisation.
