USB 3.0 Interface Limits

The adapter operates at up to 5Gb/s over USB 3.0 and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports, though transfer speeds will fall to the host port's maximum. An included 12V 2A power adapter is necessary to run 3.5in drives, while 2.5in drives can often draw sufficient power from the USB connection alone.
