They are designed to replace or upgrade the stock antennas on routers, wireless desktop cards, printers or AV receivers that use the same connector. The 2 dBi gain aims to extend range without requiring any software configuration.

The antennas only fit that specific thread type; SMA, N-type or MHF/U.FL ports will not accept them.
