The ASM1153E controller provides broad platform compatibility and stable signalling for drives up to 512GB. USB 3.0 delivers read and write speeds around 200MB/s, while UASP mode on supported Windows 8 or Mac OS 8 and 9 systems can raise throughput to roughly 400MB/s depending on the SSD used.

1.5A Current Limit and Formatting Requirement

Only mSATA SSDs drawing less than 1.5A are supported; SATA Mini PCIe, PATA Mini PCIe and RAID Mini PCIe drives will not work. A new drive must be formatted before the computer will recognise it, and the package includes two mounting screws for securing the SSD to the 72mm by 35mm by 10mm board.
