It includes 96GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory populated across the 24 DIMM slots. Two 1TB 7.2K 3.5-inch SAS drives are installed in the four large-form-factor bays. The server arrives with one processor occupying the first of two sockets. The Intel C610 chipset supports a second Xeon E5 v3 or v4 CPU to double core count and unlock the remaining twelve memory slots. Without the second processor the system tops out at 96GB RAM and 24 threads. The H240ar controller handles 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA speeds for the installed drives.
