HP
A 1U rack server with a twelve-core Xeon at 2.3 GHz, 96 GB DDR4, two 1 TB SAS drives and an H240ar RAID controller
This 1U rack server ships as a new system with a single Intel Xeon E5-2670v3 twelve-core processor running at 2.3GHz. It includes 96GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory populated across the 24 DIMM slots. Two 1TB 7.2K 3.5-inch SAS drives are installed in the four large-form-factor bays. The HP Smart HBA H240ar controller provides RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 500W hot-swap power supplies deliver redundant power.
The Matrox G200 graphics controller supports only basic display output, so workloads requiring GPU acceleration should look elsewhere. The four 3.5-inch drive bays limit internal storage expansion compared with 2.5-inch configurations. Memory is already at the 96GB installed maximum for this single-processor configuration, so buyers needing more RAM must add a second CPU. No operating system is included.
The server arrives with one processor occupying the first of two sockets. The Intel C610 chipset supports a second Xeon E5 v3 or v4 CPU to double core count and unlock the remaining twelve memory slots. Without the second processor the system tops out at 96GB RAM and 24 threads. The H240ar controller handles 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA speeds for the installed drives.

The server has 24 DIMM slots, 12 per processor. With only one CPU installed, the 12 slots belonging to the second socket remain unusable.
Yes. The H240ar supports 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA simultaneously and offers RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 across mixed drive types.
Check the BIOS or iLO memory report; it will show each registered ECC module operating up to 2400MT/s, limited by the E5-2670v3 memory controller.
