The Synology RS826RP+ is a four-bay 1U rackmount NAS powered by a quad-core eight-thread AMD Ryzen V1500B processor at 2.2 GHz. It ships fully assembled with 4GB DDR4 RAM, 1.6TB of enterprise SSD cache, and four 20TB Synology Plus drives for 80TB raw capacity. Four integrated 1GbE RJ-45 ports support link aggregation and automatic failover for reliable network connectivity.
80TB raw capacity with 192TB expansion headroom
The four installed 20TB drives provide 80TB of raw storage out of the box. A compatible RX426 expansion unit adds four more bays, raising the maximum raw capacity to 192TB when populated with supported 24TB drives. Two 800GB cache SSDs accelerate read and write IOPS for HDD arrays, while two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports allow direct-attached backup or peripheral connection.
Four 1GbE ports and one PCIe Gen3 slot define
The four onboard 1GbE ports top out at 1000 Mb/s each; aggregated throughput cannot exceed the 1GbE physical layer. A single PCIe Gen3 slot accepts a 10GbE or 25GbE adapter, an M.2 SSD adapter, or a combined M.2 and 10GbE card to go beyond 1GbE speeds. Without an add-in card the system remains bound to 1GbE networking.
