Vszerda 10 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

The Vszerda single-port network card adds a 10 Gbps Ethernet connection to a desktop computer through a PCIe x1 slot. It uses the Aquantia AQC113 chipset and supports speeds of 10, 5, 2.5, 1 and 0.1 Gbps. The package includes both a 12 cm and an 8 cm bracket for low-profile cases. Drivers are supplied for Windows 11, 10, 8.1 and Linux.

Practical limits of PCIe x1 at 10 Gbps

A PCIe 2.0 x1 link provides roughly 5 Gbps of usable bandwidth, so the card cannot reach its full 10 Gbps rate in that slot. PCIe 3.0 x1 lifts the ceiling to about 8 Gbps, still short of line rate. Only a PCIe 3.0 x2 or wider connection removes the bottleneck. The card negotiates down to 5 Gbps or 2.5 Gbps automatically when the link or partner cannot sustain 10 Gbps.

Check slot generation

Verify that your motherboard exposes a PCIe 3.0 x1 or better slot; a PCIe 2.0 x1 slot will cap throughput at half the rated speed. Confirm your switch or router has 10 Gbps, 5 Gbps or 2.5 Gbps ports — standard 1 Gbps ports will limit the link to 1 Gbps. Ensure the operating system is Windows 11, 10, 8.1 or a current Linux kernel for driver support.
