Workstation for heavy compute

This tower workstation is built around a 64-core AMD Threadripper 9980X running at 3.2 GHz with a 5.4 GHz boost and 256 MB of L3 cache. It ships with 256 GB of DDR5 ECC memory, a 4 TB NVMe SSD, a 10 TB SATA hard drive and an Nvidia RTX A400 graphics card with four Mini DisplayPort outputs. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and the system is described as AI Ready for local inference workloads.

Verify power and display connectivity

The 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold power supply uses a 140 mm fan and includes over-voltage, under-voltage, over-power and short-circuit protection. Ensure your mains circuit can sustain the draw and that you have Mini DisplayPort cables or adapters for the four GPU outputs. The motherboard provides two USB4 Type-C ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 2, four USB 3.2 Gen 1, a 10 GbE LAN port and eight SATA 6 Gb/s connectors for additional drives.

Liquid cooling and case layout

A 360 mm quiet-edition AIO cooler handles the CPU while the Corsair 5000D Frame case adds front and rear 120 mm fans behind tempered glass. Internal bays include two 3.5-inch and four 2.5-inch positions for future storage expansion. Front-panel I/O supplies two USB 3.0, one USB 3.1 Type-C and audio jacks driven by separate Realtek codecs for rear and front output.
