This 2U Dell PowerEdge R530 fits eight 3.5-inch hot-plug bays into a standard rack, giving storage-heavy workloads a compact home. A single Xeon E5-2603 v3 at 1.6 GHz and 48 GB of DDR4 handle file, backup or archive duties without needing a full-depth chassis.

Redundant power and RAID flexibility

Two 750 W hot-swap supplies keep the system running if one unit fails. The H730 controller with 1 GB cache supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across SAS or SATA drives, while five PCIe slots (three 3.0, two 2.0) leave room for extra networking or HBA cards.

4 TB default, 80 TB ceiling

Two 2 TB 7.2 K SAS drives ship installed, delivering 4 TB usable in a mirrored pair. The chassis and controller scale to 80 TB raw across all eight bays, and memory maxes at 384 GB across twelve DDR4 slots, so the platform grows with the dataset until drive bays or DIMM slots run out.
