The Dell PowerEdge R640 is a 1U rackmount server system equipped with two Intel Xeon Platinum 8268 processors. Each CPU delivers 14 cores at 2.9GHz for a total of 48 cores. It ships with 128GB of DDR4 memory installed and supports up to 3TB. The platform targets virtualization, databases, file storage and application hosting workloads.

Eight-bay SFF storage with H730P

The chassis provides eight 2.5-inch drive bays populated with 1.2TB 10K SAS hard drives running at 12Gb/s. An integrated H730P storage controller manages the array and simplifies ongoing administration. Front-panel LEDs indicate power, Ethernet and USB status.
