No drives are installed so you can populate the backplane with the exact mix of SATA or SAS media your workload demands.

Installation and common issues

The unit ships with firmware updated to the latest stable release and has passed full burn-in diagnostics. Mounting rails are optional; confirm rack depth against the 36-inch chassis length before ordering. The Smart Array P440ar controller with SAS expander manages all 24 bays, but cable routing in a fully populated chassis can be tight — plan drive placement to avoid airflow blockage. Integrated iLO Advanced provides remote console and power control once the management port is connected to a dedicated network.

Memory ceiling and drive count

Maximum supported memory is 3 TB across 24 DIMM slots, so the installed 192 GB leaves substantial headroom for future growth. The 24-bay 2.5-inch backplane is the defining capacity limit; workloads that need more spindles or solid-state devices will require additional enclosures or a different platform.
