Si5351A I2C Clock Generator Breakout
The Adafruit Si5351A breakout board provides a programmable clock source for prototypes and test setups. It uses a precision 25 MHz crystal reference and internal PLLs to synthesize frequencies from 8 kHz up to 160 MHz. Three independent outputs each deliver a different frequency at 3 Vpp. The board includes a 3.3 V LDO and I2C level shifting for 3–5 V logic compatibility.
Suitable for hobbyists
Builders who require only a single fixed crystal or frequencies above 160 MHz should look elsewhere. Projects demanding RF output levels beyond 3 Vpp or integrated SMA connectors fitted as standard will not be met by this board.
Three independent outputs up to 160 MHz
Each of the three outputs can be programmed to a separate frequency anywhere between 8 kHz and 160 MHz via the I2C interface. This capability lets one board replace several discrete crystals in a design.

أسئلة حول هذا المنتج
How do I wire the I2C clock generator to a 5 V microcontroller without damaging the 3.3 V logic pins?
The breakout includes on-board level shifting on the I2C lines so you can connect SDA and SCL directly to 5 V logic; power the board from the same 5 V supply through the VIN pin and the 3.3 V LDO will regulate the Si5351A.
What ongoing calibration or component replacement does the precision 25 MHz crystal reference require?
The crystal is a fixed component soldered to the PCB and has no user-serviceable parts; it does not need periodic calibration or replacement under normal operation.
At what output frequency does the Si5351A clock generator hit its specified upper limit during continuous use?
The device is rated to generate frequencies up to 160 MHz on each of its three independent outputs.
