PCIe U.2 NVMe Adapter

The Athena Power SP-U21NVME is a PCIe add-in card that lets a system accept a single 2.5" U.2 NVMe, SATA or SAS solid-state drive. It draws power directly from the PCIe slot and uses a tri-mode controller to handle NVMe Gen3/Gen4 and legacy SATA/SAS signalling. A metal chassis and stainless steel carrier secure drives between 7 mm and 10 mm tall. LED indicators show power and drive activity.

Builders adding one U.2 or SATA/SAS SSD

This adapter suits builders who need to install exactly one 2.5" U.2 NVMe drive or one 2.5" SATA/SAS SSD in a PCIe slot. It will not serve users who need multiple drive bays, hot-swap trays or M.2 form-factor support. Systems without a free PCIe slot or without a 7-pin SATA data header for SATA/SAS drives should consider a different solution.

Sustained load with active cooling

A built-in fan moves air across the drive during extended write sessions, helping the SSD maintain its rated throughput without thermal throttling. The metal body acts as a heatsink, spreading heat away from the controller and NAND. Tri-mode signalling keeps the PCIe link stable at Gen3 or Gen4 speeds while the drive is under continuous load.
