10Gbps PCIe x4 Network Adapter

The C&N add-on card uses the AQUANTIA AQC107 controller to deliver 10Gbps Ethernet over a single RJ45 port. It auto-negotiates down to 5G, 2.5G, 1G and 100Mbps speeds using Cat5e or Cat6a cabling. The board fits PCIe 3.0 x4, x8 or x16 slots and ships with both standard and low-profile brackets for desktop, server or NAS chassis.

Sustained throughput on PCIe 3.0 x4

The PCIe 3.0 interface provides 8.0GT/s per lane across four lanes, giving enough bandwidth to keep the 10Gbps link saturated during prolonged transfers. Auto MDIX, full-duplex flow control and IEEE 802.3x pause frames prevent packet loss when the link runs continuously at line rate. PXE boot and IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging remain active under load without driver intervention.

Cable distance and slot constraints

Cat6a cable supports the full 10Gbps rate at 100m, while Cat5e or Cat6 is limited to 100m at 1Gbps or 2.5Gbps. The card requires a PCIe slot; legacy PCI slots are not supported. Drivers are available for Windows 7 through 10, Server 2008 to 2016, Linux and VMware, but the adapter cannot operate without an available PCIe x4 or wider slot.
