The Dell PowerEdge R750 is a 2U rack server fitted with two Intel Xeon Silver 4316 processors running at 2.3 GHz with 20 cores each. It ships with 256 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory across eight 32 GB modules. The system includes a PERC H755 RAID controller with 8 GB NV cache and battery, twenty-four 600 GB 10K SAS drives, dual 10 GbE SFP+ OCP 3.0 networking, iDRAC9 Enterprise, two 1400 W platinum power supplies, rails and a front bezel.

Verify rack space and power

Confirm the rack can accommodate a 2U chassis and that the PDU provides two suitable connections for the 1400 W supplies. Check that the H755 RAID controller meets the required RAID level from the supported set of RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Ensure the SFP+ transceivers and cabling match the dual-port 10 GbE OCP 3.0 adapter. Validate that the operating system and hypervisor support the LGA 4189 socket and the installed DDR4 memory configuration.

Hot-swap bays and redundant power

The twenty-four front-access 2.5-inch drive bays support hot-swap SAS drives for non-disruptive replacement. Dual hot-swap power supplies provide N+1 redundancy so one unit can be exchanged under load. The PERC H755 battery-backed cache protects in-flight writes during unexpected power loss. iDRAC9 Enterprise enables remote firmware updates, power cycling and console access without physical presence.
