What the camera does and who uses it

The Reolink E1 Series Pro-Black is a 5MP indoor WiFi camera with pan and tilt for 360° coverage. It records at 2880x1616 resolution and uses a 1/2.7" CMOS sensor with an F1.6 aperture. The unit supports smart person and pet detection plus crying detection for baby monitoring. It is suited for indoor watching of children, pets or elderly relatives.

Installation and common issues

The camera connects by 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz IEEE 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n WiFi or a wired RJ45 link. Power comes from a DC 5.0V/1A supply. A microSD slot allows local storage. Setup requires the Reolink app on iOS, Android, Windows or Mac OS. Wireless signal strength and router compatibility are the usual sources of connection problems.

Practical limits of the WiFi and storage interface

The wireless link uses internal antennas on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Video streams use H.264 compression at up to 20fps with a main stream bitrate between 2048Kbps and 5120Kbps. Night vision reaches 12m via 850nm infrared LEDs. The pan mechanism moves 355° horizontally and 50° vertically. Up to 20 users can access the camera simultaneously.
