DIY sticker enclosure for 2.5" SATA drives

This Orico enclosure turns a 2.5" SATA hard drive or SSD into a portable USB 3.0 device. It fits drives that are 7 mm or 9.5 mm thick and includes vintage-style stickers for customising the case. A 50 cm USB-A cable is supplied for immediate connection.

Single-bay design limited to 6 TB per drive

The enclosure accepts one SATA I, II or III drive with a maximum capacity of 6 TB. Drives measuring 12.5 mm thick are not recommended, so buyers needing larger or taller drives must choose a different enclosure.

UASP protocol reduces overhead during long transfers

With UASP enabled the SATA III link runs up to 70 % faster than standard USB 3.0 bulk transport. After 10 minutes of inactivity the unit enters an automatic sleep mode to protect the drive and lower power draw during extended sessions.
