Purpose and compatibility

This enclosure converts a SATA-bus M.2 NGFF SSD with B or B+M key into a portable USB 3.1 5Gbps Type-C drive. It accepts 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors and requires no driver installation. Buyers with PCIe NVMe or PCIe AHCI M-key drives cannot use this product.

Sustained transfer behaviour

The USB 3.1 Gen 1 interface delivers up to 5Gbps bandwidth and is backward compatible with USB 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 speeds. Real-world throughput will follow the limits of the installed SATA SSD and the host controller during extended copy or backup sessions.

Thermals, noise and power
