HPE 1.92TB SAS SSD for read-intensive workloads
This enterprise solid-state drive delivers 1.92TB of capacity over a 12Gbps SAS interface in a 2.5in form factor. It uses MLC flash tuned for read-intensive duty cycles and includes a Smart Carrier for hot-swap installation in HPE ProLiant Gen8 servers. The drive is supplied new with a one-year manufacturer warranty.
Suited for arrays that serve frequent reads
Database caches, web-content repositories and virtual-desktop images benefit from the read-optimised endurance profile. Write-heavy workloads such as continuous logging, high-throughput ingest or OLTP systems with heavy update rates will exceed the intended duty cycle and should select a mixed-use or write-intensive drive instead.
12Gbps SAS interface determines controller
The drive requires a 12Gbps SAS host bus adapter or RAID controller and a backplane that supports 2.5in hot-swap SAS bays. Without a matching 12Gbps SAS connection the drive will not operate at its rated link speed or may not be recognised at all.
