This 16 GB DDR4 2400 ECC RDIMM is built for servers and workstations that require registered memory with error correction. It replaces Samsung M393A2G40DB0-CRC, M393A2G40DB1-CRC and M393A2G40EB1-CRC modules in compatible systems. Buyers needing unbuffered UDIMMs or non-ECC memory for consumer desktops cannot use this module.

Installation Notes

The 288 pin DIMM fits standard DDR4 server slots and operates at the DDR4 standard voltage of 1.2 V. Because it is a registered dual rank 2Rx4 module, the platform memory controller must support registered ECC RDIMMs; installing it in a board that only accepts unbuffered memory will prevent the system from posting. Verify the qualified vendor list before purchase.

DDR4 Interface Limits

DDR4 2400 PC4 19200 sets the maximum transfer rate for this module and CL17 defines its baseline latency. Registered buffering adds one clock cycle of command delay compared with unbuffered memory, which is normal for the RDIMM standard. The memory controller and BIOS determine the final operating speed; if the platform caps memory at a lower data rate the module will downclock automatically.
