The ASUS NUC 14 Essential RNUC14MNK3500000 is a new barebone mini PC built around an Intel Core 3 N355 processor with a 15 W TDP. It ships with 16 GB of DDR5-4800 memory in a single SO-DIMM slot and a 256 GB NVMe SSD. Integrated Intel Graphics drives up to three displays through DisplayPort, HDMI and USB Type-C, making it suited for office productivity, digital signage or compact home setups.

VESA mount and 2.5G wired plus Wi-Fi 6E

The chassis measures 5.31" x 4.53" x 1.42" and includes a VESA bracket for mounting behind a monitor or under a desk. Front I/O provides one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C and two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports for quick peripheral access. A single 2.5 GbE RJ45 port and Wi-Fi 6E AX211 with Bluetooth 5.3 handle wired and wireless connectivity. Storage can be expanded via a second M.2 2242 SATA slot alongside the primary M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 x4 slot.

Upgrade path limited to storage and memory ceiling

The platform maxes out at 16 GB of DDR5 in a single-channel configuration, so users needing more memory must look elsewhere. CPU performance is fixed at the Core 3 N355 level, ruling out heavier workloads such as video editing or virtualisation clusters. The jump from an older Celeron or Pentium mini PC is worthwhile for snappier web browsing, multi-monitor desk work and faster 2.5G file transfers, but not for compute-intensive tasks.
