Dedicated 25 W Adapter for Industrial USB Hubs

The Black Box PS290 is a new 25 W power supply built specifically for the ICI200A and ICI202A industrial and medical-grade USB hubs. It delivers a regulated 12 V DC output at 2.08 A through a locking barrel connector that prevents accidental disconnection. The unit accepts both 110 V AC and 220 V AC input, allowing deployment in North American, UK and EU environments.

Class II Isolation Limits Surge Exposure

The adapter provides 4 kV isolation to protect sensitive connected equipment from voltage transients. As a Class II device it operates without a protective earth connection, which restricts its use to applications where double or reinforced insulation satisfies the relevant safety standard. The fixed 12 V output and 25 W ceiling mean it cannot support higher-power peripherals or variable-voltage loads.

Replaces Lost or Damaged Hub Power Bricks

This supply replaces the original adapter when it is missing or has failed, restoring full hub operation without rewiring. The upgrade is worthwhile whenever the existing brick no longer holds the locking barrel securely or when a spare is required for field-service kits. It is not suited for powering non-Black Box devices that demand different voltages, currents or connector types.
