This new Dell HUC101812CSS204 is a 1.2 TB, 10 000 RPM internal hard drive with a 12 Gb/s SAS interface and a 2.5 inch form factor. It ships with a compatible Gen14 caddy for direct installation in supported Dell PowerEdge servers.
Suited for Dell Gen14 and Gen15 PowerEdge bays
The supplied caddy fits the R240, R340, R440, R540, R640, R740, R740XD, R740XD2, R840, R250, R350, R450, R550, R650, R650XS, R6515, R6525, R750, R750XS, R7515, R7525, R360, R660XS, R6615, R6625, R760, R760XD2 and R760XS. Builders using other chassis or drive carriers will need a different mounting solution.
12 Gb/s SAS interface decides compatibility
The drive communicates over a 12 Gb/s SAS link, so the host backplane or controller must support that speed and protocol. Without a SAS 12 Gb/s connection the drive cannot operate at its rated performance.
