Compact business desktop

The Dell OptiPlex 3050 Micro is a refurbished ultra-small-form-factor PC built around a 35 W Intel Core i5-7500T running at 2.70 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVMe solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed, and a USB keyboard and mouse are included. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 engine drives up to two displays via the native video outputs.

Memory and storage headroom

The board supports DDR4 up to 32 GB, so the current 16 GB leaves room for heavier multitasking or larger datasets. The single M.2 NVMe slot holds the 256 GB boot drive; when that fills, the only internal expansion is a second M.2 or a 2.5-inch bay if the chassis variant provides one. Graphics performance tops out at the integrated 630 controller, so 3D workloads and modern gaming are not practical.

Build integration

At roughly 60 percent less desk footprint than a traditional tower, the Micro case mounts behind a monitor, under a desk or on a VESA arm using Dell's optional All-in-One Stand. Tool-less access simplifies memory or storage swaps, and in-band management lets IT teams maintain fleets remotely. Buyers who need discrete graphics, multiple internal drives or more than two video outputs will need a larger form factor.
