Compact 1U rack server for dense deployments

The Dell PowerEdge R430 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 ten-core processor at 2.3 GHz and 24 GB of DDR4 memory into a 1U chassis. It includes a PERC H330 RAID controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60 across up to eight 2.5-inch hot-plug drive bays. A single 550 W redundant power supply, DVD-ROM drive, four 1 GbE ports, two PCIe 3.0 slots and iDRAC8 remote management complete the package.

Suited for virtualisation hosts

This configuration works well for buyers who need a dense rack server with hardware RAID and redundant power for virtualisation clusters or file-storage duties. The installed processor provides ten physical cores and twenty threads via hyper-threading, setting the baseline compute capacity for the system. A second socket is available for future expansion, but the current configuration runs on one CPU only.
