The Dell PowerEdge R440 is a 1U rack server built for dense data centre deployments. It ships with two Intel Xeon Silver 4114 processors, each running at 2.2 GHz with ten cores and a 3.0 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 512 GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across sixteen 32 GB modules. Eight 600 GB 10K SAS drives and an HBA330 controller provide high-speed local storage for demanding applications.

Dual 550 W platinum supplies

Two hot-plug 550 W platinum-efficiency power supplies deliver redundant power for continuous operation. The 1U chassis uses front-to-rear cooling to maintain thermal stability under load in tightly packed racks. Integrated dual-port Gigabit Ethernet handles baseline network traffic without additional cards. iDRAC 9 Express enables remote monitoring and firmware updates without physical access to the server.

Eight 2.5-inch drive bays and PCIe expansion slots

The front panel holds eight 2.5-inch SAS/SATA bays populated with 600 GB 10K drives, leaving no empty slots for immediate expansion. The HBA330 controller supports 12 Gb/s SAS and SATA devices for future drive upgrades. Internal PCIe slots allow additional networking or storage controllers as workloads grow. The unit ships without front bezel or ready rails, so rack mounting hardware must be sourced separately.
