The Dell PowerEdge R440 fits a full two-socket configuration into a single rack unit, making it suitable for data-centre racks where space is at a premium. Two Intel Xeon Silver 4114 processors provide twenty cores running at 2.2GHz with a 3.0GHz turbo frequency. A total of 512GB DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory is installed across sixteen 32GB modules, supporting reliable operation for virtualization, cloud and database tasks.

Redundant 550 watt platinum-efficiency power supplies share the load and maintain uptime if one unit fails. The 1U chassis uses a front-to-rear airflow path designed for dense rack rows, moving heat through the system without requiring oversized fans. Power draw scales with the twenty active cores and the full memory complement, while the platinum-rated units keep conversion losses low during sustained operation.

H730P controller enables hardware RAID across

The PERC H730P with 2GB cache and a battery backs write operations and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. Eight 2.5-inch drive bays are populated with fillers, ready for SAS or SATA drives to be added without cabling changes. Integrated dual-port Gigabit Ethernet and iDRAC 9 Express provide out-of-band management and network connectivity without consuming a PCIe slot.
