1U Rack Server for Dense Compute

The Dell PowerEdge R650xs is a 1U rack system built on the 15G platform. It ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 6330 processors, each running at 2.0 GHz with 28 cores. The configuration includes 128 GB of DDR4 2933 MHz registered ECC memory across eight modules and a PERC H745 RAID controller with 4 GB NV cache. Network connectivity is provided by a Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 card, and management uses iDRAC9 Enterprise.

Storage and Power Configuration

Eight 960 GB SATA 6 Gb/s 2.5-inch solid-state drives fill the front bays behind a bezel. The H745 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Two hot-swap 1400 W platinum power supplies provide redundant power. ReadyRails and the front bezel are included. Buyers who need NVMe or SAS drive interfaces, larger drive capacities or more than eight 2.5-inch bays should look at other configurations.

Dual-Socket LGA 4189 Platform

The system uses the LGA 4189 socket and supports up to two processors. Memory capacity can scale to 1 TB using the 16 DDR4 DIMM slots. The installed Gold 6330 CPUs have a 3.1 GHz turbo frequency. This specification defines the processor upgrade path and maximum memory limit for the chassis.
